Good property decisions start with good conversations, whether you're buying your first home, selling the family house, or simply keeping an eye on your investment.
We work with people at every stage of the property journey, from a first inspection to years of steady management, and every conversation starts the same way: we listen first, then offer advice worth having.
Our team has spent two decades getting to know the local market, street by street, sharing what we learn so you're never just talking to one person, you're talking to all of us. It's an approach our clients keep coming back to, and we'd love to do the same for you.

Our Story
Why we started, and what has kept us here
We’d rather give you the number you need to hear than the one you want to hear. Twenty-five years on, that is still the whole business.
McConnell Bourn began in 1999 with two agents, one phone line and an office above a shopfront on the Pacific Highway. Neither founder had a grand plan. What they had was a conviction that the North Shore deserved an agency treating a home sale as something more considered than a transaction — a conversation about timing, money and family that happens to end with a contract.
Twenty-five years on, the office count has changed and the phone line stopped being the only way to reach us a long time ago. The conviction has not moved. We still think the most valuable thing an agent offers is an honest read of the market and the patience to explain it, whether or not that read is the one a vendor hoped for.
Plenty has been written about what makes a good agent. In our experience it comes down to something unremarkable: being in the same suburb long enough to tell the difference between a quiet month and a turning market, and being willing to say which one you are looking at.
That shows up in small, unglamorous ways. We share what we learn across the whole team rather than hoarding it in private databases, so a buyer asking about a Lindfield townhouse hears the same market picture as one asking about Waterloo. We quote realistic ranges and then defend them. We say when a property is not ready, and when waiting three months would cost more than it saves.
It also shows up in who stays. More than half the people who sell with us have bought with us, or were sent by someone who did. The management book started at eleven properties in 2004 and now runs into the hundreds, mostly landlords who never went looking for an alternative.
We are not the largest agency on the North Shore and have never tried to be. We would rather be the one people call first, ask a question of, and come back to. That is the whole ambition, and it has been enough to build on for a quarter of a century.
Questions
The things people ask us most
Can’t see your question here? A two-minute phone call usually sorts it out, and there is no obligation waiting on the other side of it.
Our core is the Upper North Shore — Lindfield, Killara, Roseville, Gordon, Pymble and Wahroonga — with offices also servicing Waterloo, Macquarie Park and Quakers Hill. If your property sits outside that and you would still like an opinion, ask anyway: we will either help, or point you to someone who will.

We know the
Sydney market. If it’s worth doing,
it’s worth doing well.
North Shore property moves rarely follow a script, so neither do we. Whether you're weighing up a sale or just curious what your place is worth now, our team takes time to understand what you need before offering an opinion.
